A lot of change ups on the VR Driving experience. While Drift is still the main fun. I've always been a "driver" and the touge especially has my attention.
When I was in Japan, I built 2 main cars.

This one was modeled after the Gunsai Touge Monster videos and it's Pan Speed twin turbo was ideal. A bit too pretty for the track, the mountain lover couldn't perform the hard work.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho_UlPUZFYmEkF8PUPNGwHrGAbXbNbu8vK3YR4a8VWMhuM26eKFr82JCet9ETqNbMRLZogEXJ8Ci_xsDi7qspbAZ3bMVj_rSFYo3V8aaOPoQ0e5d1bGrSc_9dEqA9roGPaXZn_MDKh8yu2/s1600/Rextreme_V3_110808_02.jpg)
so this cheap single turbo FD was purchased a street race / drift car.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnKESD0W4lOCjnfEzL44wl2vElrLGDbEyXzLMPegFsFwe0CGFgX3mSB1OSn2A0T3dqqWX1TVlwrFzY-a8kLgFkeNoACvh-neayjVZtW2J6LhABQ5Ga4iBjdcQCGqDl9BLzZYCFaHx877vE/s1600/Rextreme_V3_11070713.jpg)
A task that it easily handled. I love both and all things "car".
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA1v6evZJUxSXhbyy_lmJ3kYYknzBN_2yDT5malhemzxTJlqn0qrkdT-2aQtmERFfcwUVUCqXKvaWWc3wglFu1Yk5hNsm51befR3YwN2eqW8YUghNtYGmeYkgaXSMSpyGYBYu0vziYSWpj/s1600/VR_20200605_05.jpg)
So after ripping the guts out of the outrageously realistic Gunsai cycle sports centre... I wanted to try a bit of speed as the drift cars are now sooo grippy. the Assetto Tyre models are that of 100 tread wear. or less. a bit crazy.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWcPUlXby3PcDuDxXLdkGItEDnnBmBJ-uhJmppKr_DTd81A6c9qtuRtGxRViOhyphenhyphenMbopqw-W5DHLyMztJ4NyJBRxJjGQf0Memc6slW7uU46xZj7NYH1SIMMWLi0W_jQG5xjwlIqCfklH1vg/s1600/VR_20200605_02.jpg)
they back and cock tyres with suspension travel and grip.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0FvnoDadhWdde52uZuLx9TEqsakcyb26CBVkq0J8KZykmN3YNCqoxEP2SO9XeSxcb49_PmWvXBxxh39GWU3oNoQRJ2yKUGpQoRfuz31Irgh2Lx5ssFu6jIgwJG32gY7ct1i5XD0MnQDG4/s1600/VR_20200605_01.jpg)
So I built these SRP Shuto styled monsters. The ultimate street racer of the early 2000s
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQBWSgMb22mOL6_1INyoW4DjIrjB10JWm_SbZyl05LG1-bJ0EjV4DMNr8yTp1natGXqBbb0nHJlCA0liPPsHhYxFjR5PoGD9MC0mmiqhyphenhyphenEzwjFuAy38qsC-rRaQrOwW3e4RBbzO_sm2nVm/s1600/VR_20200605_10.jpg)
And we rule Tokyo streets!
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ49At36gRuQw2A4o8X8CXgfgn-4njS6hOjmunVKhKSiZ4nnWFasKkSOzi0ZypNRWyPO2pzB3bhjxgBhsjOUiKGO7FkMrVKNbu40OysTgTnhBxQAHk1lFchKfZeavULaEB1TKviRGbGEOr/s1600/VR_20200605_11.jpg)
So these highways are actually faster than most circuits. 4.30 laps on the C1... and 330kph on the straights.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2aXMZcFDY7-itjJxl38kEWclCzkHkvwi_Nv4CBzTxiAuq6IKKA1U8ie22fd8Ze7LLdtFgNh_EDnHjOnudcwt01pRALpJbti7j5PPeVW-D91mlLjt_fyrb9evmkegAXZ8Sr6Ab7jjD0mCJ/s1600/VR_20200605_17.jpg)
Actually faster areas than le Mans which is probably the fastest race track anywhere.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1vADJ_roU6wdW2uSkB1_EFFXgzY0MrRK6cH1Ex1ARvw7GA9uBK1155MApoesB7t3EbhL6_W-C4eeBqih6GLOWseaM-K1Wbcc7n9EkMLgQJ7Aw8AK5Ty0N71Jc2cL62aQdJ86KHQubijTu/s1600/VR_20200605_16.jpg)
So Yes.... we do take our 850hp LM cars on the street.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVDlmR2Fb17xE1GtWgsdWHWSo5BbwzOzZYJOl9PwwfhZGDQTuvvTST7c_BdwCoKDumd6py8c39X6gNjME2eoKvOrwTiX-2fF2jVhrGhU0_L1gaetQPTsIQO3BrCoHsdZv2qCHwr1iPQUvU/s1600/VR_20200605_18.jpg)
And these are absolutely suited to the C1.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVqRxRhE0upONE2epbEUoQkx5cfxvXte68zRKX7qseTmzVxy_l1b2fB9K6uOZP9gCupPFlrMimhpUwPE4cJTxQpPHJYxTFIi0IFxKNj6YFGGO0REjUHU1BdQG4hZ3S9MOeq4xf3JWf6SeO/s1600/VR_20200605_22.jpg)
So how about Le Mans... itself.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeIXPsduKJiG4f_BujQnl83WdmWOtocMCfVLoP9Qtu2aZq0ITH3HzYxsc32dfj5lUksv9lGEggcCyLrjiOMURexmPZZSQwk3gdpjqxcEBPuJvRd_K4kqpjLfkNe-MqgqMzdwXeozQtkXRo/s1600/VR_20200605_23.jpg)
Well the comp crazy "drift" tyre model is still very well suited as a "race" tyre which begs the question, is it just a race tyre. Probably it was originally.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0Ja2fXlDdT4Boerm6OnuPMIOZdHYTWHQosVIcLiA0YOT3MYcKStDZOkRDI9hzGhzIUSzZhCYBP4DzKi1yVi9vjbblhzuuU9dBLWreARp7UoGlIhAjl0bwaB_D_sN0xG9i1Xug70CcHJrc/s1600/VR_20200605_24.jpg)
and while i havn't finalised the spring rates for 300+ kph racing with my drift car. it's very good already.
